  • The Giant Within-The Secret to Success

There is something, actually someone within us. It is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN too. Most of you would have hit the ‘x’ on the browser by now, after reading the first line — thinking this is a crappy post, but here you are still reading.

You might as well hit the ‘x’ as the rest did — thinking I am insane, I am mad, I am bluffing. If you have not yet hit the ‘x’, I thank you, and I assure you that this is not a shitty-just-to-get-attention-post.

If you are still here, I can tell that you want a more-than-average-life, and you have come to the right post. Although, this post is not the whole flight of stairs it is a crucial step towards your more-than-average-life.

The ‘someone’ within us that I am talking about is not a myth I came up with or a legend someone else came up with. All of us have seen that ‘someone’ at least once in our life. If you do not believe me yet, I am sure you will in the next few moments.

That ‘someone’ usually comes out when we watch inspiring videos, listen to soul-touching speeches, see people close to us achieve success, or when we run out of options to survive. No clue? Let’s think about a time when all of a sudden during a lazy day, we get invigorated, we get things done, things that we should be really doing instead of eating pizzas and watching TV or playing video games. That is not it, there is more to it. After the invigoration, we some how seem to have mastered the skill, or learn a new thing, we would have given anything for a few weeks back. All of a sudden, we are as productive as people inspiring us.

Still no clue? If the answer is no clue, I am really sorry for wasting your time. If you have not yet felt the way I described above, I hope you will come back to this post the day you feel it.

For those of us who have felt it, that is that ‘someone’ I am talking about. Hey, wait don’t just hit the ‘x’ just because you think it is something you know for sure, and reading this post is a waste of time. You might know about it, but if you do not, success lies ahead.

What happens usually, in most cases, is that we believe that we have grown, actually grown, after being invigorated, and change our lives accordingly. We start doing things we should be doing for getting closer to our goals. Regrettably, that is not the way to go. The invigoration is not our growth. It is just a safety measure, a final-backup created by our brain to sustain, to save our last remaining brink of hope. We become happy, we want that invigoration, that motivation, that getting-things-done-spirit everyday, but, sadly, that is just an illusion.

I do not mean that the things we get done during that time are illusions. Those things we get done, are done, but the ‘change’ that we think had happened is an illusion. It is just a few days before we get back to what we were before the invigoration by that ‘someone.’ But does that mean we might never be able to become successful. Forget successful, does that mean we will never be able to become productive?

No, that is not what I mean. In fact, we have the potential to become more productive than what that ‘someone’ had shown, but there needs to be a slight change in our thinking before we become more successful than that ‘someone.’

Why are we getting motivated to a extreme level at times, and then lose all of that feeling of greatness after some time? We get dependent on that ‘someone’ for getting things done, for moving forward. And that too is subconscious — we do not think we are getting dependent on that ‘someone’. We think we have already grown as much as that ‘someone.’

This cycle continues forever keeping our potentials suppressed. What we need to do? Forget that ‘someone.’We should refrain ourselves from watching inspirational videos to bring that ‘someone’ out, because it is only that ‘someone’ who grows from it, we get nothing. We should obviously learn from that ‘someone’ but we should never be dependent on that ‘someone.’

Grow yourself, not the motivated self. As the wise quote goes, “A team is only as strong as its weakest member” grow your worst self, not the best self, and that is how you will achieve greatness.
